I quit! (FB that is)

Went without Facebook a week!
Wasn’t that hard really,
Didn’t even give it one peak!
You may think I was silly.
It was actually kinda nice.

Found out I don’t really care,
(You may think that is cruel)
About what’s happening out there,
Think I’ll make it a rule,
To be free from this terrible vice!

Now where can I post this rhyme speak?

Written August 1 2015 but still seems appropriate!

Dreams

If I had a nickle
For each time I’ve thought of you
I’d quit my job and schooling
And live the way kings do.

Few banks could hold my money
All the land around I’d own
Many servants I could order
All the other kings dethrone.

But with all this wealth and power
My thoughts would never stray
I’d think about the times we had
Before you went away.

And if by chance I’d see you
In dreams or fantasy
We’d laugh and talk together
Just like it used to be.

Now I don’t have a nickle
For each time I’ve thought of you
So I’ll keep my job and stay in school
And dream the summer through.

The great wall...

One day while traveling down the knowledge road
Across the streams and rocks I strode
Some were large but most were small
And then I came upon the wall.

The height of it I could compute
It’s mass I knew was not minute
Of brick and mortar it was made
Each one upon the other laid

At first I tried to climb the wall
I’d slip and slide and then I’d fall
Then proceed to fume and cuss
That dreaded wall called calculus!

The most important task

Without ambivalence today, I went,
My direction not unclear, unknown,
A purpose with complete intent,
Until at last, arrived, relief.

Tomorrow brings repeated tasks, I go,
Without a show or boast of deed,
Success unnoticed and unsaid,
All others too, perform the need.

Without is surely grief!

And now the task you know, you do,
Without remorse, regret, alone,
Complete, unnoticed and unsaid,
Until at last arrived, relief.

Though try you may, delay, impede!
